Sr. Daniel Maria Library at St. Louis School
We are updated!
Our school library was named after Sr. Daniel Maria, SSJ. Sr. Daniel served St. Louis School for many years. Sr. Mary Luke was the first librarian at St. Louis School. She started with bare shelves and now her legacy has grown to over 6,000 books, videos, cd-roms, and periodicals with the help of Florence Shaw, a retired School Librarian. Students have access to a traditional card catalog as well as an automated catalog. Students have library instruction once a week. We have a full-time Media Specialist. Students in grades four, five, and six volunteer their recess time as "The Media Squad." They retrieve books from the classrooms, re-card books, re-shelve books, and perform many other helpful duties.

Reading instruction from grades one through eight includes the Accelerated Reader Program. AR provides teachers with an easy and effective way to monitor all forms of guided reading practice. Students have access to over 2500 quizzes on various books at various levels. Students read the book and answer computerized questions. We are now able to provide access to quizzes we have at St. Louis School. There are three lists: by title, author, and reading level. Just click on the links below.
